WAKODAHATCHEE WETLANDS

Palm Beach County, FL

Wakodahatchee Wetlands was developed as the county’s first created wetland and has become one of its premier birding venues. The site was originally 56 acres of percolation ponds from the main water treatment facility in the county.

Our team created the master plan of the existing plant operations, future land use, the proposed site plan, and interpretive signage. The complexity of the project required public charettes to incorporate community opinion. The project received the distinguished Environmental Sustainability Honor Award in 2009.
